Men’s College Players

Jordan Armstrong - RS Freshman- IPFW Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne University – in 2012 was named to MIVA All-Academic Team as one of four MIVA players to own 4.0 GPA. Check out Jordan’s video profile:

Michael Marshman Freshman- St. Francise University – The men’s volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association’s (EIVA) preseason poll. The reigning EIVA champs, Penn State, will give St. Francise some tough competition this spring as well as other former Lakeside players teams, IPFW and Ohio State.

Matt Bynon – Junior- Rivera University - The 2011 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, who was also among the national leaders for digs. The Raiders ended the 2012 season in the DIII National Quarterfinals falling 3-2 to #2 University of California-Santa Cruz.

Logan Barbour – Freshman – This Middle Hitter is looking forward to helping his AVCA #7 ranked Raiders in a big way.

Alex Houghtalen -Senior- Nazareth -Finished 2012 playing in 111 sets, 2.42 kills per set and 269 total kills. The Flyers are ranked #6 nationally in the DIII Preseason Poll.

John McCarty – Freshman- Nazareth – Look for the Libero-Defensive specialist to help the team in the back row this season in their fight to get back to the top of the nation.

Shawn Herron - RS Sophomore- Ohio State – Played in 18 matches last season – earned Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, MIVA Academic All-Conference, and Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Mike Pelletier – Senior- Springfield College – In his junior season lead Springfield College to win the Inaugural D III Men’s Volleyball Championships.

Mike Coniglione – Senior – Endicott – In the 2012 season Coniglione played in 21 matches tallying 50 kills, 24 digs and 27 blocks. Heading into his senior season

Stew Allendorph - Endicott – The sophomore defensive specialist played in 17 matches last season.

Carter Roche – Junior – Endicott - The setter had a big 2012 season tallying 410 assists for the Gulls.

Ryan Nearney – Elmira – Ryan appeared in the third-most sets for Elmira College (138)… He led the team in assisted blocks (65) and total blocks (90) as well as third on the team in solo blocks (25)… Nerney also registered 26 digs, 178 kills, and 425 attempts.. The team went 22-18 overall last season losing to No. 4 Juniata in the UVC championships.

Kyle Landrigan – Pfeiffer Univeristy -Sophomore – setter/outside hitter on the team, in 2012 played in 3 matches tallying 54 assists.

Dan Feltes - SUNY IT – Sophomore – Libero / Defensive Specialist – tallyied 130 digs in his freshman season with the team.

JR O’Hara – Freshmen – New Paltz University – Defensive specialist for the Hawks. This season they will play a tough schedule, facing 12 of the 15 programs ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III Men’s Coaches Top-15 Preseason Poll.

Women’s College Players

Maria Allocco - Nazareth – Sophomore middle blocker – Leading the team in kills with 165 while hitting a .376. Was named rookie of the week 4 times last season, selected as the Empire 8 rookie of the year, selected for the Empire 8 second team all-conference, as well as New York region freshman of the year by AVCA.

Jeanette Braun – SUNY Plattsburgh – Freshman Outside Hitter – Stepped on the floor early as a freshman starting every match so far this season.

Allyson Coniglione - SUNY Oneonta – Freshman Defensive Specialist has helped the team to a good start on the season including an 8 game win streak- as of Oct 5 the team is 12-5.

Emily Gillich – Endicott College – Sophomore Defensive Specialist

Lizzy Morton – Geneseo – Freshman Outside Hitter – Teams season was cut short but looking to see good play from this former Lakeside player next year!

Micke Mango – Sage – Freshman Middle Hitter – Has played in all sets so far this season leading the team in blocking and is third on the team in kills! The Gators went 14-4 to start the season.

Mary Kelly – Cortland – Sophomore Middle Hitter – Has seen some court time as the Red Dragons start the season strong at 20-2! A member of the team that finished the season 42-2 after a 4-set loss in the NCAA DIII quarterfinals

Hattie Burgher -  Houghton College – Freshman Outside Hitter – Has played a big role stepping in as a freshman on the team, currently ranks 3rd on the team in kills helping the team to a 10-6 record to start.

Jennifer Hicks – Nazareth College – Freshman Middle Blocker – Has gained some experience joining former Lakeside Player Maria Allocco as a Golden Flyer as the team begins conference play undefeated at 5-0.

MacKenzie Pelton - Clarkson University – Freshman Defensive Specialist – Joins former Lakeside Player and now Assistant Coach Sarah Morton as the team has an impressive start 17-4 and 7-1 in conference.

Kassandra Buseck – Sophomore – Freshman right side / outside hitter – played in 25 sets last season and starting out strong her second year, in the top 4 on the team in kills while hitting a .224 avg.

Kelsey Kromer – Kutztown University  Sophomore hitter played in 4 matches this season helping KU finish with 24 wins in 2011, the most since 2007, and had 13 PSAC East victories setting a school record.

Laura Falkowitz - College of Saint Rose – Senior defensive specialist / setter saw limited action last season due to injury as the team went 18-9 overall reaching the NE-10 Championships however in 2010 was one of 5 players to play in all 27 matches finishing third on the team with 219 digs.

Carissa Vazzana – Union College – Senior defensive specialist – has played in 19 sets this season helping the team to a 12-6 overall record.

Christina Vazzana - Union College – Senior defensive specialist - has played in 4 matches this season recording 10 digs, and no your not seeing double it’s the Vazzana twins!

Natalie Ziskin - Iona College – Freshman Setter – Iona started the season going 3-2 in conference and 4-0 at home.
